Shakujii-jo Castle Ruins

Shakujii-jo Castle ruins are located on a plateau between Shakujii River and Sampoji Pond valley. It was a stronghold of the Toshima clan, a local ruling family that had ruled the area since the early 14th century. Although the castle was destroyed by the attack of Ota Dokan, a warload based in Edo-jo Castle, there are still ruins of its earthwork and dry moat.
